This intense heat removes remaining moisture and causes a molecular change, which is important when building musical instruments and stability is essential. The torrefaction process enhances the grain and gives the Maple a beautiful uniform chocolate brown and caramel colour. Think of it as a time-travel for wood- torrefaction artifically ages the wood by decades, giving it the look, feel and performance of well-seasoned timber, which will make your phone stand feel like a fine vintage piece
A clear food safe stain made from waxes and natural oils is applied to enhance the natural grain of the wood, protect it from stains, water and make it soft to the touch.
